AMHERST, NH (September 28, 2021) – Raimond Carter, currently enrolled in his fifth semester of the Veterinary Nursing Technology program at Harcum College, has been awarded the 2021 Walkin’ Pets Vet Tech Scholarship. Walkin’ Pets, a NH-based pet mobility company, annually awards this scholarship to support the next generation of Vet Tech and Rehab professionals who will provide compassionate care to animals.
Raimond grew up loving plants and animals in Stowe, Pennsylvania. As he got older, his love for people came hand-in-hand with his love for animals, and he decided that the field that would satiate his love of both was veterinary nursing. Raimond chose to attend Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA because they uniquely offer a small and large animal practicum that all students pursue in their final two semesters of the Veterinary Nursing Program. Last semester, he was able to complete a month-long externship at Banfield Animal Hospital. This experience helped expose him to in depth anesthesiology and strengthened his confidence with basic skills like restraint, triage, and blood withdrawals.
He is currently in his fifth semester and begins live animal practicums next semester. Upon graduation, he hopes to honor Harcum College by entering a practice that helps domestic animals, as well as exotics.
Walkin’ Pets is honored to award the 2021 Vet Tech Scholarship to someone as deserving as Raimond Carter.
