What Makes the SureFit® Calculator the Best Choice?

SureFit® Guarantee: we guarantee the perfect size, or we’ll pay your return shipping costs if an exchange is needed. That way there’s no doubt your pet will get the perfect fit.

We highly recommend using our SureFit® Calculator as it ensures the perfect custom fit for your pet. It requires a couple measurements, but only so we can provide your pet with the very best experience.

We recognize this takes a few minutes of your time, but those minutes are worth the happiness your pet will experience once they try out their wheelchair for the first time. Our wheelchairs have already helped more than 81,000 other pets. Let’s make that 81,001!

Other companies simply have you select a wheelchair based on weight, but that often results in a poor fit. Why? A 30 lb bulldog has a very different body type from a 30 lb corgi, but those companies will provide both with the same wheelchair.

Baby Raccoon Rolls Towards Recovery

AMHERST, NH (August 12, 2019) – Walkin’ Pets has helped move countless miracles into motion, whether it’s helping a dog, cat, goat, or even a duck. When the Walkin’ Pets team first heard the story of a baby raccoon with mobility problems they jumped into help.

A Baby Raccoon in Need

When wildlife rehab specialist Susan Curtis first met 8-week-old raccoon, Vittles was in rough shape. She had suffered a traumatic brain injury making it impossible for her to survive in the wild.

Although the exact cause of her trauma is a mystery, Vittles was left unable to balance or support herself on all fours. Walking was impossible and there was very little hope of recovery.

Raccoon Rehabilitation

Susan is no stranger to working with raccoons. She specializes in the rehabilitation of both bats and raccoons for the state of Arkansas. Susan had was taken Vittles into her home. Where together they will work on rehabilitation and get Vittles the medical care she so desperately needs. Vittles now lives with her “brother” Beetlejuice (a 10-year old racoon with cerebral palsy). The two have full run of the house and Susan’s fenced in property. The hope is that eventually, Vittles will become part of their long-term non-release program and join the state’s educational program. But first Susan needs to get Vittles on her feet.

Raccoon Wheelchair

Walkin’ Wheels partnered with Susan to get Vittles back on her feet. Providing her with her own full support Mini Wheelchair that will help her with her balance issues and stabilize her so she can walk on her own. Although Vittles isn’t expected to ever make a full recovery, due to early intervention and the help of her brand-new wheelchair there’s hope. With the support of her raccoon wheelchair she will begin to develop the muscles needed to stabilize her body and work to build up her core support. With the hope that Vittles will rehabilitate to the point where she’ll be able to get around without her Walkin’ Wheels.

“She is such a happy little spirit with so much go! This baby wants to live and thrive.”

Even though Vittles journey is just started, Walkin’ Pets will be there every step of the way to get her back on her feet.
