AMHERST, NH (August 30, 2019) – Sarah Jama, a third year Vet Tech Student at the University of Maine at Augusta, has been awarded the 2019 Walkin’ Pets Veterinary Technician Scholarship. Walkin’ Pets by HandicappedPets.com, an e-commerce pet product company servicing the needs of disabled, injured, and aging pets, awards the scholarship to help support the next generation of veterinarians who will be on the front line of providing compassionate pet care.
Ms. Jama resides in Lisbon. ME with her son Asa and her dog Kai. While attending school full time, she is also working as a part-time clinical assistant for a mobile veterinary clinic. She has always known that she wanted to work with animals. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree from UMA she hopes to pursue her DVM at Tufts or PEI.
Although, it’s proven challenging to balance life with a toddler, work and school the rewards will be well worth the weight. Ms. Jama enjoys that she is able to provide help and care for the animals in her community.
Walkin’ Pets by HandicappedPets.com is honored to award their annual veterinary tech scholarship to someone as deserving as Sarah Jama!
