What Makes the SureFit® Calculator the Best Choice?

SureFit® Guarantee: we guarantee the perfect size, or we’ll pay your return shipping costs if an exchange is needed. That way there’s no doubt your pet will get the perfect fit.

We highly recommend using our SureFit® Calculator as it ensures the perfect custom fit for your pet. It requires a couple measurements, but only so we can provide your pet with the very best experience.

We recognize this takes a few minutes of your time, but those minutes are worth the happiness your pet will experience once they try out their wheelchair for the first time. Our wheelchairs have already helped more than 81,000 other pets. Let’s make that 81,001!

Other companies simply have you select a wheelchair based on weight, but that often results in a poor fit. Why? A 30 lb bulldog has a very different body type from a 30 lb corgi, but those companies will provide both with the same wheelchair.

A New Hampshire Miracle Dog Defies the Odds, Overcomes Paralysis with the Help of Dog Wheelchair

Wilson Press Release

CONCORD, NH (July 5, 2023): A 12-year-old rescued beagle from New Hampshire becomes a miracle dog since regaining full mobility after becoming completely paralyzed . . .

Meet Wilson

Wilson’s owner found him one morning, unable to move any of his limbs. Upon this discovery, Wilson was brought to Mass Vet Referral Hospital to be seen by a neurologist where he was diagnosed with Ataxia. However, after the diagnosis, Wilson woke up the next day in even worse condition . . .

When Wilson and his family returned for a follow-up exam, it was determined that Wilson had quadriparesis (paralysis of all 4 limbs), as well as a large mass on his chest. Wilson’s family faced a difficult decision; however, Wilson’s owner knew the fight wasn’t over yet. They wanted Wilson to live out the remainder of his days surrounded by the things and people he loved most.

They began Wilson on a rehab treatment plan with Canine Strong, an animal rehab facility in Concord, using full body harnesses to assist him into the standing position and practicing the “walking” motions. Wilson’s owner saw how excited he would get when they brought him to the beach, so the team at Canine Strong recommended incorporating a Walkin’ Wheels dog wheelchair into his treatment plan. This wheelchair would allow Wilson to enjoy those special moments with confidence, independence, and ease.

With the assistance of his chair, Wilson was able to stand and even began building up enough muscle to take a few assisted steps. However, after many rehab visits and practice in his new wheels, Wilson started showing major signs of improvement, and suddenly began to walk on his own WITHOUT the assistance of the wheelchair. This is rare to see in dogs with Wilson’s same diagnosis and considered nothing short of a miracle.

Renee, with Canine Strong, says,

“I think the wheelchair really gave Wilson the freedom he wanted back, because he would improve each time he got into the cart – and now he is RUNNING.

It not only improved his physical, but it improved his mental as well, and that really is what started his progression into moving and running around.

It is a night and day difference. I think the wheelchair is what saved his life.”

We are so proud of how far Wilson has come in his recovery process and are so thankful for the vets and rehab specialists at Canine Strong who believed in him every step of the way, both literally and figuratively.
